Here’s a look at my NFL power rankings for Week 8 of the 2013 season.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (2)(7-0) — Never thought the Chiefs would be atop my power rankings … but here we are.
  2. Indianapolis Colts (7)(5-2) — Probably benefitted from playing at home, but played well vs. Broncos.
  3. Denver Broncos (1)(6-1) — They could have issues defensively against great teams, but they’re deadly at home.
  4. Seattle Seahawks (3)(6-1) — Had a huge victory over the Cardinals on Thursday night.
  5. San Francisco 49ers (5)(5-2) — Starting to pick it up after a rough couple weeks earlier in the season.
  6. New England Patriots (4)(5-2) — May have fallen to the Jets, but they’re the better team.
  7. New Orleans Saints (6)(5-1) — Had the bye week. Ready for second half push.
  8. Green Bay Packers (8)(4-2) — Dominated a lousy Browns team.
  9. Cincinnati Bengals (12)(5-2) — Impressive road victory over the Lions.
  10. Dallas Cowboys (11)(4-3) — Uninspiring win over the Eagles, but a win nonetheless.
  11. San Diego Chargers (15)(4-3) — Not many kudos for a team pounding the Jaguars.
  12. Detroit Lions (10)(4-3) — Lost a tough one to a better Bengals team.
  13. Baltimore Ravens (13)(3-4) — Fell against the Steelers; probably the better team, but just an average overall club.
  14. New York Jets (22)(4-3) — Huge victory over division rival Patriots.
  15. Chicago Bears (9)(4-3) — Had defensive problems to begin with, now have bigger problems minus Cutler and Briggs.
  16. Carolina Panthers (24)(3-3) — Looked dead in the water at the beginning of the season, now has a bit of a resurgence.
  17. Miami Dolphins (14)(3-3) — Got off to a hot start but have since fallen flat.
  18. Philadelphia Eagles (16)(3-4) — The great Chip Kelly offense manages 3 points against Dallas.
  19. Atlanta Falcons (23)(2-4) — Held on to beat a bad Buccaneers club.
  20. Pittsburgh Steelers (25)(2-4) — Tight divisional win over the Ravens.
  21. Buffalo Bills (26)(3-4) — Good victory over the Dolphins, but still not a good team.
  22. St. Louis Rams (17)(3-4) — Pummeled by a surging Panthers team.
  23. Houston Texans (18)(2-5) — Gave the Chiefs a close game, but what happened to this team?
  24. Cleveland Browns (19)(3-4) — Had no shot against the Packers.
  25. Tennessee Titans (20)(3-4) — Couldn’t match wits with the 49ers.
  26. Arizona Cardinals (21)(3-4) — The division rival Seahawks just had too much for them.
  27. Washington Redskins (28)(2-4) — Nice victory over the Bears; still a bad team.
  28. Oakland Raiders (27)(2-4) — Bye week. Nothing happening.
  29. New York Giants (30)(1-6) — They had to win sometime. And either they or the Vikings had to win Monday night.
  30. Minnesota Vikings (29)(1-5) — Freeman was slinging the ball all over the place. Still bad.
  31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (31)(0-6) — What a disaster this team is. Can they even win a game?
  32. Jacksonville Jaguars (32)(0-7) — Let the good times roll…
