Here’s a look at my NFL power rankings for Week 12 of the 2013 season.

RANK. TEAM NAME (PREVIOUS RANK)(RECORD)

  1. Denver Broncos (2)(9-1) — Reclaimed the top spot by knocking off the previously unbeaten Chiefs.
  2. Seattle Seahawks (3)(10-1) — First double-digit win team, now has the bye week.
  3. Kansas City Chiefs (1)(9-1) — Broncos were a little too much for them. Couldn’t keep up with the offense.
  4. New Orleans Saints (5)(8-2) — Slipped past a good 49ers team.
  5. Carolina Panthers (6)(7-3) — Impressive victory over a good Patriots team Monday night.
  6. New England Patriots (4)(7-3) — Lost a tight battle to a steadily improving Panthers team.
  7. Indianapolis Colts (7)(7-3) — Held off a feisty Titans team Thursday night.
  8. Detroit Lions (8)(6-4) — Questionable coaching cost them in Pittsburgh.
  9. San Francisco 49ers (9)(6-4) — Lost a tough battle to a better Saints team.
  10. Chicago Bears (13)(6-4) — Two-hour delay and an overtime session made it a long day for a victory.
  11. Philadelphia Eagles (10)(6-5) — Edged division rival Washington.
  12. Cincinnati Bengals (11)(7-4) — Ended up routing cross-state rival Cleveland.
  13. Dallas Cowboys (12)(5-5) — Had the bye week; in a tight divisional race.
  14. St. Louis Rams (16)(4-6) — Had an extra week to prepare for the Bears upcoming.
  15. Miami Dolphins (18)(5-5) — Just barely knocked off the Chargers.
  16. Arizona Cardinals (22)(6-4) — Took care of the lowly Jaguars.
  17. Baltimore Ravens (15)(4-6) — Lack of talent isn’t good enough to get them through long breaks this year.
  18. New York Giants (24)(4-6) — Took down the short-handed Packers.
  19. Pittsburgh Steelers (25)(4-6) — Outlasted the Lions, taking advantage of Detroit’s ignorance.
  20. Green Bay Packers (14)(5-5) — Kept it close against the Giants until the end.
  21. New York Jets (17)(5-5) — Got trounced by division-rival Buffalo.
  22. San Diego Chargers (19)(4-6) — Couldn’t take down the Dolphins on the road.
  23. Washington Redskins (20)(3-7) — Lost on the road to the Eagles.
  24. Cleveland Browns (21)(4-6) — Got bested by the Bengals in the Ohio battle.
  25. Tennessee Titans (23)(4-6) — Nearly came back to beat the Colts Thursday night.
  26. Buffalo Bills (30)(4-7) — Laid a whooping on the Jets.
  27. Oakland Raiders (28)(4-6) — Took down a miserable Texans team this year.
  28. Houston Texans (26)(2-8) — They just don’t have what it takes offensively to get the job done.
  29. Minnesota Vikings (27)(2-8) — Hammered by the Seahawks.
  30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (31)(2-8) — Looking a little bit more like a competent team; rolled over the Falcons.
  31. Atlanta Falcons (29)(2-8) — Too many injuries to too many key players.
  32. Jacksonville Jaguars (32)(1-9) — At least they got one victory last week; lost to Cardinals this week.
