The Depth Chart: 2013 NFL Week 16 Power Rankings

Here’s a look at my NFL power rankings for Week 16 of the 2013 season.

RANK. TEAM NAME (PREVIOUS RANK)(RECORD)

  1. Seattle Seahawks (2)(12-2) — Best record in the NFL and tough as nails at home.
  2. Denver Broncos (1)(11-3) — Upset at home by the Chargers; everyone else in their class lost, too.
  3. New England Patriots (3)(10-4) — Lost to the Dolphins; might have offensive troubles without Gronk.
  4. Kansas City Chiefs (5)(11-3) — Trounced the Raiders on the road behind Charles.
  5. San Francisco 49ers (6)(10-4) — On a roll lately, pushing for the No. 1 wild card.
  6. Carolina Panthers (7)(10-4) — Fighting for the NFC South division crown after a win over the Jets.
  7. New Orleans Saints (4)(10-4) — Lost to the Rams; in a dogfight for the NFC South crown with the Panthers.
  8. Arizona Cardinals (10)(9-5) — Nice overtime victory over the Titans.
  9. Indianapolis Colts (11)(9-5) — Rolled over the struggling Texans.
  10. Chicago Bears (13)(8-6) — Still have lots of defensive problems, but offense rolls with Cutler or McCown.
  11. Baltimore Ravens (14)(8-6) — Solid fourth-quarter Monday night win over the Lions on the road.
  12. Philadelphia Eagles (8)(8-6) — Have one of the NFL’s most dynamic offenses, but flopped on the road in Minnesota.
  13. Cincinnati Bengals (9)(9-5) — Tough road loss to the Steelers.
  14. San Diego Chargers (16)(7-7) — Big upset victory over the Broncos on the road.
  15. Miami Dolphins (17)(8-6) — Topped the Patriots at home. Alive for the playoffs.
  16. Green Bay Packers (18)(7-6-1) — Nice comeback win over the Cowboys. Still has a shot at the division crown.
  17. Detroit Lions (12)(7-7) — Too many losses in the past month. Choked away a game to the Ravens.
  18. St. Louis Rams (19)(6-8) — Solid victory over division rival Saints.
  19. Dallas Cowboys (15)(7-7) — They continue to flop in crucial moments. Gave away a game to the Packers.
  20. Pittsburgh Steelers (23)(6-8) — Solid home victory over divisional foe Cincinnati.
  21. Minnesota Vikings (24)(4-9-1) — Impressive home win over the Eagles.
  22. Tennessee Titans (21)(5-9) — Dropped a heartbreaker in overtime versus the Cardinals.
  23. New York Jets (22)(6-8) — No match for the Panthers.
  24. New York Giants (20)(5-9) — Got blanked by the Seahawks.
  25. Atlanta Falcons (28)(4-10) — Barely snuck away with a one-point victory over the Redskins.
  26. Buffalo Bills (29)(5-9) — Nice victory over the Jaguars.
  27. Cleveland Browns (25)(4-10) — Had a shot against the Bears, but gave away another fourth-quarter lead.
  28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (27)(4-10) — No contest against the 49ers.
  29. Jacksonville Jaguars (30)(4-10) — Got edged by the Bills in a close one.
  30. Oakland Raiders (31)(4-10) — Had no shot versus the Chiefs. Got trounced.
  31. Washington Redskins (26)(3-11) — A team in a world of hurt, but just barely lost to the Falcons.
  32. Houston Texans (32)(2-12) — Simply awful team on its way to the first overall pick.
