The Chicago Bears signed veteran tight end Zach Miller to a one-year deal on Friday, the team announced.

Miller had a terrific preseason last year with the team when he caught 6 passes for 68 yards and 2 touchdowns, but got hurt and spent the year on injured reserve. He looked like he could be that important second option at tight end behind eventual Pro Bowler Martellus Bennett.

Miller has had trouble staying on the field in his short career, but if he could stay healthy, I feel good about his chances at producing problems for opposing defenses lined up opposite Bennett.
