According to the Baltimore Sun, Ravens outside linebacker Pernell McPhee has agreed to join the Bears. The veteran will sign a five-year deal worth nearly $40 million, according to league sources.

McPhee, 26, has played four seasons in the league but has only started six games. He did register 7.5 sacks last year as a situational pass rusher, backing up Pro Bowlers Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil.

The Bears, who are switching to a 3-4 base defense, were in dire need of
not only linebackers but an upgrade in pass rush in general. McPhee not only will fill those needs but he helps make the Bears’ defense younger, which was a big concern the past few seasons.
