Is linebacker Curtis Lofton a potential Bears fit?

The New Orleans Saints released veteran linebacker Curtis Lofton on Monday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, among other media outlets.

Any time the Saints are among discussions in terms of player personnel, the sense of alert is a little bit higher in Chicago given that new general manager Ryan Pace came from that organization.

So, does that mean that the Bears — who have a major deficit at linebacker — could be interested in the 28-year-old Lofton?

While nobody can say for sure what is going on between the ears of one Mr. Pace, he has to at least consider him. Lofton won’t come without a price tag, though, given that the Saints parted ways with him due to salary constraints.

Lofton has recorded six straight seasons with more than 100 tackles and garnered 144 last year.
