Veteran middle linebacker D.J. Williams, who spent the past two seasons with the Bears, has been informed by the team that he will not return, per Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.

Williams signed with the Bears in 2013 to replace the retired Brian Urlacher, but he was never able to get into a groove and missed more than half the season with a torn pectoral muscle. He returned in 2014 but managed to play in only 12 contests, starting 10 of them.
The Bears are in the market to find a new set of middle linebackers in their base 3-4 defense.
