According to NFL Network, former Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman is scheduled to meet with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. Tillman, who has spent all 12 years in the league with the Bears, was not re-signed as the team looks to move in a different direction.
Should Tillman sign with the Panthers, he would be reunited with former Bears defensive coordinator and current Panthers head coach, Ron Rivera.
Tillman has battled sporadic injuries throughout his career, none more serious than the torn triceps injury he sustained in each of the past two seasons. Whether or not Tillman can stay on the field is the biggest question mark at this point in his career. But I have no doubts that he’ll manage to be a decently productive player — as well as continue his reign as the King of the Ball Punch — wherever he latches on.
