According to ESPN’s John Clayton, the Bears have reportedly backed off Plaxico Burress and are no longer expressing interest.

Supposedly, several other teams have backed off as well, so it may only be in response to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell beginning his review of Burress’ case.

If a suspension comes for Burress, expect to see fewer teams in the running to land the Super Bowl-winning receiver.  However, if no suspension is handed down until the justice system has its say first, then Burress could receive considerable interest as training camp nears.
